  2019     From Paris To Tokyo

Our journey as sisters began in 2019 while we were traveling in France.

We fell in love with a slice of beautiful lemont tart (tarte au citron meringuée) at a cafe in Paris

and decided to open a small cafe in Tokyo, named "Café de Nicole" offering the tart and other authentic French pastries. Our journey as sisters began to share our deep love for the French pastries.

  2023    Reflecting Our Japanese Roots

As we shared the joy of French pastries with our customers, we gradually began to reflect on our future.
At the end of 2023, we decided to close our ca and started to reconsider how we could make the most of our abilities to contribute to this world. After closing our café, we left for a journey to reflect on our roots.

Through traveling to France, Italy, East Asia, the United States and other places, we realized the Japanese culture was being cherished around the world where we had never imagined.

A Magical Treasure Box from Japanese Folklore

We named our subscription box "Tamatébaco" inspired by a famous Japanese folktale of Urashima Taro. In Japan, the term "Tamatebaco" refers to a treasure box used to store personal precious items.
